Description
Designed by the celebrated husband-and-wife team Jane and Gordon Martz for Marshall Studios, this exceptional Mid-Century Modern ceramic table lamp exemplifies the quiet elegance and handcrafted quality that have made Martz lighting some of the most collectible American designs of the twentieth century.
The lamp features the iconic Martz bottle-form silhouette, finished in a beautiful soft sage green speckled matte glaze that shifts subtly with changing light. The understated color evokes natural stone and complements a wide range of interiors, from Mid-Century Modern and Scandinavian to Japandi and contemporary spaces. Its clean architectural profile reflects the timeless philosophy of the Martz studio—allowing honest materials and impeccable proportions to speak for themselves.
Crowning the lamp is an original solid teak finial, adding warmth and organic contrast to the cool ceramic body. A crisp white linen drum shade completes the presentation, diffusing light beautifully while highlighting the sculptural form below. Whether illuminated or displayed as an object of art, the lamp possesses a refined presence that enhances any room.
Handcrafted by Marshall Studios in Indiana, Jane and Gordon Martz lamps are prized for their exceptional craftsmanship, restrained modernism, and enduring quality. Original examples in this desirable sage green glaze have become increasingly difficult to find, making this lamp an outstanding addition for collectors of American studio pottery and vintage designer lighting.
Professionally inspected and ready for use, this lamp is equally at home on a bedside table, credenza, console, or desk, offering both functional illumination and timeless Mid-Century Modern style.
