Description
GOTHIC REVIVAL COLORLESS GLASS & BRASS PENDANT HALL LANTERN
Probably English, 1830-1845
The circular blown glass canopy above the hexagonal lantern which hangs from three chains connected to leaf-shaped hooks springing from the stamped brass bezel which holds the top of the glass shade. The hexagonal shade is frosted having Gothic windows and lozenges copper-wheel engraved on alternating panels. The bottom of the glass is fitted with a stamped brass frame holding a removable brass ventilator with candle cup above and finial below. A brass tube with three electric light sockets hangs from the center of the canopy into the lantern (removeable).

Origin: England Period: 19th Century Materials: Glass & Brass Condition: Good. Excellent: Three small chips at the top edge of the glass shade which are fully obscured by the stamped brass bezel. The brass tube with electric light sockets is a modern addition and is removable.
