Description
The Uchiwa II wall lamp by Ingo Maurer is an elegant example of 1970s design, with a structure that combines natural materials and modernity. The metal and bamboo are harmoniously combined, while the lacquered rice paper diffuser adds an oriental touch and softens the light. The shape is inspired by a Japanese fan (from which the name "Uchiwa" derives), creating a soft and diffused illumination. It is an iconic piece that blends functionality and art, typical of Maurer’s innovative design. Ingo Maurer and produced by M Design, Germany / Japan, 1970s. Original label intact. The structure on the back attaches to the wall in a very simple and direct way. 29” h x 22.5” w 4.75” d
Relying on traditional Japanese craftsmanship Ingo Maurer designed this amazing lightning series, this is the wall lights with 58cm in width and 75 cm in height. They‘re mounted to the wall by simply hanging them to a hook. The lamps have a standard E27 fitting for regular E27 bulbs. Please not that bulbs should not be more than 25 Watts, to reduce heat and prevent heat damage ! -

Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago. From a longstanding interest in art and design, frequent buying trips to France and Italy have influenced the direction of the gallery to offer items that are not easily sourced in Chicago and United States. Postwar design has been the focus for 18 yrs and we also look forward to new design that crosses boundaries and dialogues as well to the past
