-
Description
A minimalist Mid-century modern ceiling lamp model AA 72/40 by Finnish Itsu from the 1950s.
A simple sleek and elegant design featuring an opaline glass shade nesting three light bulbs and hanging from a brass rod with brass details to the bottom. The fixture provides diffused light through the glass shade and reflected light off the ceiling due to its open top design.
The lamp is in its original condition with the brass parts kept without polishing retaining a nice original patina. The lamp is stamped with Itsu to the inside. Refer to pictures please.
Itsu was one of the leading lamp manufacturers in Finland during the middle of the 20th century and a daughter company of Idman. Along with companies like Taito Oy, Idman and Orno they defined what Finnish design lamps would become. It made high quality lamps and produced lamps for major projects, including some of Alvar Aalto's projects like the Aalto University. -
