Nordisk Solar
Denmark - Circa 1960s
Dimensions: 11.25" H x 27.5" DIA
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. New old stock.
Discover the epitome of Danish sophistication with this extraordinary rare bronze pendant chandelier, designed by the iconic design duo Preben Fabricius and Jorgen Kastholm in 1964 for Nordisk Solar, Denmark circa 1960s. Model 74407 is a grand presence that imbues any room with an undeniable sense of modern luxury.
Meticulously spun from aluminum and finished in a duranodic bronze (brown-black) finish, this pendant boasts a spectacular 27.5" diameter, making it the largest in its renowned series. The pendant features five stepped louvered shades, an ingenious design element that allows for a stunning distribution of light.
The rarely seen duranodic bronze finish is a warm dark brown-black color. In bright light the warm tone will show through but in lower light the pendant lamp will look black. The bronze finish creates a more minimalist modern / architectural look.
It’s a commanding centerpiece that’s nevertheless versatile enough to complement a variety of interiors: dining room, foyer, kitchen island, bedroom... the list goes on! Designed with an E26 porcelain socket, the lamp utilizes a single standard light bulb with a maximum wattage of 200, ensuring it's not just a design statement but a highly functional piece.
Ease of installation is assured: a 6-foot white cord and a 5.25" original white-painted canopy are included, streamlining the process. Furthermore, the cord can be effortlessly changed to a longer length or different color to suit your design preferences.
The ultimate showstopper? The chandelier's exceptional "new-old-stock" status. Preserved to perfection since the 1960s, this pendant has never been previously lit, never been used, and show zero signs of wear and tear. No scratches, dents, or other imperfections mar their impeccable surfaces.
Available in a limited quantity—only one pendant is currently up for grabs—this is a unique opportunity to own a pristine piece of design history. Enrich your space with this museum-quality lighting fixture and let each gleam and shadow it casts tell a story of art, design, and unparalleled craftsmanship. -
