The Eva table lamp by Jacques Jarrige is a striking sculptural work that blurs the boundary between functional design and expressive art. First hand-carved in wood, the form was cast in bronze to preserve the immediacy of the artist’s gesture and the tactile depth of his process.
The entire surface of the lamp is composed of undulating, angular facets—each one meticulously polished to a high mirror finish. These gleaming planes are offset by the contrasting rougher bronze body between them, which retains the raw texture of the original carving. This interplay of polished and matte surfaces creates a dynamic tension and gives the lamp a sense of movement, as light dances across the faceted form and the sculpture seems to shift with every change in perspective.
Standing 16 inches high (without shade), Eva is fitted with a double-cluster socket accommodating two 60W bulbs or LED equivalents. Whether illuminated or not, it captivates as a luminous presence—sensual, modern, and alive.
