Wall light "Fiori"

This large Fiori wall light is sculpted by hand from single sheets of brass, each holding three candle-style lights. A pair is available. Part of Jacques Jarrige’s Fiori series, these sconces are both functional lighting fixtures and expressive wall sculptures—radiating a sense of movement, vitality, and organic growth.

Each sconce begins as a flat sheet of brass. Jarrige cuts it into flowing bands without removing any material, then twists and hammers the metal into voluminous, petal-like forms that seem to unfurl from the wall. The hand-worked surface, rich with subtle texture and variation, catches the light and enhances the sculptural presence of the piece.

Inspired by the botanical photographs of Karl Blossfeldt, the forms reference natural structures—leaves, tendrils, seed pods—without becoming literal. They retain a sense of abstraction, suggesting the rhythm and architecture of plant life while remaining firmly rooted in Jarrige’s language of intuitive line and material exploration.

The three candle-style lights are seamlessly integrated into the composition, emerging from the curling brass like stems or buds in bloom. When lit, the fixtures cast delicate shadows and warm reflections, further animating their presence.

Each Fiori sconce is a unique work, shaped directly by the artist’s hand. While this pair is made in brass, a variation in aluminum is also available, offering a cooler, silvery interpretation of the same form.
