A small brown and white ceramic partially glazed table lamp designed and produced by Jean Besnard in France in the middle of the 20th century. This example is marked on the underside.
Jean Besnard, son of Albert Besnard and member of the Committee of the Society of Decorative Artists, began exhibiting at the Salon des Tuileries in 1925 and at the Salon d'Automne in 1926. His works are held in several prominent collections, including the Musée du Luxembourg, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
