Grand Mid-Century Flush Mount Uplight Ceiling Lamp from Filmcasino Vienna, 1950s
-
Description
We are delighted to present this stunning bowl-shaped pendant light / uplight plafoniere / flush mount light fixture dating back to the 1950s. (Actually there were three pieces available.) This exquisite light, originally designed by architect Albrecht F. Hrzan, was part of the iconic redesign of Vienna's Filmcasino during that decade. The Filmcasino stands as one of Vienna’s most esteemed and historic mid-century cinemas. Custom-crafted exclusively for the cinema as true one-of-a-kind pieces, these lights were never made commercially available. Made of aluminum, the fixture has a generous diameter of 38 inches and features six light sources. Carefully restored and professionally rewired, this fixture is in impeccable condition. Finished in an elegant combination of beige/off-white ivory and deep Bordeaux red, the light casts a warm, inviting and indirect glow. It will be delivered fully rewired and ready for installation at your desired location, embodying the exquisite style reminiscent of Jean Royère. Actually there were three pieces available.
