Description
This model “2610” table lamp was designed by Just Andersen (1884-1943) - a Danish decorative sculptor and silversmith. The second half of the 20th century was perhaps the most fertile breeding ground for innovation since the industrial revolution. Many Scandinavian lightning designers and companies of the era created innovative technologies that led to distinctive modern pieces, such as this table lamp.
This stylish lamp is a delightfully unique model, with distinctive details and design choices. The base of the lamp is a square and flows upwards to form a slender stem. This piece is made from pewter which is a beautiful material with over three thousand years of history, prized for its versatility and its ability to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors. Over time, it develops a soft, distinctive patina that adds warmth and sophistication to any space, and with proper care, pewter pieces can retain their beauty and functionality for decades. With its pewter body and off-white fabric shade, this lamp has an unmistakeable look that mixes artistic touches and materials to create an overall impression of elegant luxury. The unique form also hints at the brutalist influences of the era, with the aesthetic leaning towards raw elegance. The marriage of straight and curved lines are in perfect harmony and truly shows the designer’s skill. This lamp has many qualities that make it ideal to blend a stroke of modernity to any space, serving both a functional and a purely aesthetic role.
Adding this stylish table lamp to a living space will not only improve the ambience, it will also bring a piece of design history to the interior. Apart from the aesthetics, the quality of this model is also true to its mid-century modern heritage.
