Description
A pair of modern Bau series wall lamps designed by Klaus Michalik and produced by Orno in the 1980s. The design features a brass base with an up- down forking arms each carrying a half globe opaline white shade. The lamps can also be installed so as the shades are on the sides rather than up and down.
The lamps are in good vintage condition and both carry a worn out Orno label. The lamps might need rewiring for the US.
Like Lisa Johansson-Papé, Klaus Michalik began his career at Orno after working as a furniture designer for Stockmann / Keravan Puusepäntehdas. He is best known for his Bau series, inspired by Bauhaus principles of clarity and function — a language clearly present in these lamps that belong to this series. -
