Description
This striking mid-century modernist chandelier is an exquisite example of American design sophistication from the late 20th century, created by the iconic company Lightolier. Dating to circa 1970, this chandelier embodies clean geometric lines and a bold architectural aesthetic that defined the modernist movement during that era.
The chandelier features a rectilinear three-tier design with a dramatic X-form structure that creates a sense of symmetry and balance. Its sleek silhouette emphasizes minimalism and functionality without sacrificing visual impact, making it an ideal choice for modern and mid-century interiors.
Crafted from smoked amber glass, the design introduces a subtle warmth and rich tonal variation. This amber glass shades interacts beautifully with light, casting an atmospheric glow that enhances the chandelier's overall elegance. The smoked finish further adds a contemporary edge to the piece, contrasting its clean geometry.
The frame is constructed from brushed brass with a center cylindrical housing in black enamel, giving it a refined metallic finish that complements the warm hues of the smoked glass. The addition of black enamel accents provides a bold visual contrast and a sophisticated sense of depth. Together, these materials highlight the harmonious interplay between texture, finish, and form.
Ideal for dining rooms, entryways, or living spaces, this chandelier is not merely a light fixture but a sculptural centerpiece that elevates the architectural language of any interior. It serves as an enduring symbol of Mid-Century Modern design, blending practicality with artistic vision. Newly rewired to American Standards with height that can be adjusted to suit, this fixture accommodates 12 candelabra based bulbs achieving up to 720 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
