Description
Exceptional and rare Art Deco iron Table Lamp. French fer forge of the highest quality. Contemporary of Edgar Brandt, Raymond Subes and Paul Kiss, this iron lamp signed on the base by designer Katona. Great looking with a mushroom style spotted glass shade signed Schneider. A perfect marriage of two important companies associated with the art deco movement. Ready to be put into action, recently rewired including vintage original bakelite on/off switch. Would look great on a desk, mantle or could be seen as a sculptural piece of industrial iron and glass art.
This important piece designed around 1925, would support its connection to the beginning of the Art Deco movement in Paris. It was at this exposition “International Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes” the beginnings of this very important time which has influenced the world and that which we no call Art Deco. -
