Description
the ancient Greek hydria was primarily made of terracotta and used as a water jar for fetching, carrying, and pouring water; this pair pair of vintage urn-form table lamps combine classic elegance with Hollywood Regency sophistication featuring a flared neck above a tapering ovoid body flanked by curved handles emanating from decorative rosette medallions all resting on a circular splayed and gadrooned foot; the whole supported on a stained wooden plinth with brass feet; height to top of urn: 22"

The Marbro Lamp Company was established by Morris Markoff and his brother (Mar-bro) after World War II in the garment district of Los Angeles. While specializing in a wide selection of antiques and decorative accessories, they are best known for their high quality lamps. Lamp parts were sourced from all over the world, but always assembled in their LA shop.
