Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte: Pair of Chiseled Glass Sconces, Italy 1954
-
Description
Max Ingrand (1908 – 1969) for Fontana Arte
A striking, beautifully crafted pair of tiered sconces by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte. Three rows of exceptionally thick, luminous crystal slabs with deftly chiseled, undulating edges cascade outwards from a rectangular central pane of opaline glass, supported by polished brass mounts. The three rows of crystal are of increasing width.
When lit, these imposing sconces glow from within and flow like waves, the sinuous crystal radiating a magnetic warmth.
Italy, c. 1954
Restored and rewired for use in the US with three candelabra base bulbs behind the central opaline glass panel. Can be UL certified at cost.
