Description
This boldly scaled Mid-Century Modernist table lamp, crafted in France circa 1950 features a harmonious blend of materials and bold contrasts. The base is made of white glazed ceramic with organic textural grey glazed detailing, boasting a minimalist yet elegant silhouette with a reserved finish. Perfectly complementing the base is the lamp's monumental spun resin shade, which captivates with its delicate swirling textures and hues of citrine and amber, spun with graceful overlaps and a deeply felt material sensibility. The shade diffuses light into a warm, inviting glow, showcasing the earthy yet vibrant hues that evoke the organic beauty of natural materials while maintaining the clean, sophisticated look central to Mid-Century Modern design. Together, the ceramic base and oversized resin shade create a cohesive balance between simplicity and artistic flair, embodying the era's emphasis on materiality and functional beauty. Its large shade ensures ample light diffusion, establishing a cozy and atmospheric space. Newly rewired to American Standards, this lamp accommodates one Edison base bulb achieving up to 100 watts of light. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
