Watt & Volt
Italy - Circa 1970s
Dimensions: 65" H x 19.5" DIA
Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
Embrace the allure of modern Italian design with this stunning Murano glass dome floor lamp by Watt & Volt, crafted in the 1970s. Echoing the iconic designs of Gae Aulenti, this piece introduces a touch of sophistication to any space.
The floor lamp showcases a hand-blown glass umbrella or mushroom-shaped dome shade in an elegant, rich purple hue. The shade is ribbed, creating a mesmerizing optical effect and is accentuated by a striking black glass rim at its base. The shade effortlessly rests atop three rubber bumpers located on the stem support, highlighting the meticulous design and ease of assembly.
The lamp's 2” diameter stem and robust, 13.5” diameter weighted circular base are made from black painted metal, establishing an appealing contrast with the vibrant purple shade. The lamp accommodates six standard size light bulbs, ideally tube or torpedo-shaped for the best visual effect, housed in sockets located at the top of the stem and point downwards. An in-line dimmable floor switch allows for tailored lighting effects to suit your mood and ambiance.
This floor lamp measures an overall 65” H x 19.5” DIA, with a 20” H shade. It retains its original Vetri Murano and Watt & Volt labels intact on the lower edge of the glass shade, affirming its authentic Italian pedigree. Transform your space with this modern design masterpiece that adds both warmth and sophistication. -
