Pair of Italian Rococo Style Late 19th Century Carved and Painted Sconces
-
Description
A pair of Italian Rococo style painted and carved, wood and metal two-light sconces from the late 19th century. Born in Italy during the last decade of the 19th century, each of this pair of wall sconces features a carved Rococo Silhouette, beautifully highlighted with painted accents. Flowers and foliage are surrounding gilded scrolls, while two arms adorned with acanthus leaves are supporting the candle sleeves. The abundance of its décor and its subtle polychromy will make this pair of Italian sconces circa 1890 an excellent choice to decorate any home, perhaps anchoring a chest-of-drawers, credenza or console table.
