Description
Rare Flush Mount Ceiling Light by Banci Firenze, Italy, circa 1950s
A rare and elegant flush mount ceiling light designed and manufactured by Banci Firenze in Italy during the 1950s. This exquisite fixture exemplifies the celebrated Florentine style for which Banci became renowned, combining hand-forged gilt iron with delicately crafted Murano glass elements in a refined naturalistic composition.
The circular gilt-iron frame is richly ornamented with hand-chased acanthus leaves, from which graceful flowering branches emerge, decorated with textured Murano glass leaves and delicate crystal flowers with finely detailed gilt centers. The organic arrangement creates a harmonious balance between sculptural metalwork and luminous glass, giving the piece exceptional depth and elegance.
Eight concealed light sources provide a soft, ambient glow, illuminating the transparent Murano glass foliage and enhancing the rich gold finish. The design perfectly captures the romantic sophistication of mid-century Italian decorative arts and reflects the exceptional craftsmanship that made Banci Firenze one of Italy's most respected lighting manufacturers.
Ideal for an entrance hall, living room, dressing room, or luxurious bedroom, this rare ceiling light complements Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, and Italian Art Deco-inspired interiors.
