Dutch lighting design of the 1960s was marked by an exploration of modern materials and a fascination with light as a spatial element. Manufacturers such as Raak and Philips were at the forefront of this movement, producing fixtures that combined technological precision with sculptural restraint. Interestingly, Raak was founded in 1954 by Carel O. Lockhorn, a previous employee of Philips Lighting in Eindhoven.

This pair of ceiling lamps reflect a modernist approach through the simple yet striking form. In good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamps have recently been rewired and reconditioned.
