Peter Behrens Luzette Industrial Pendant Lamp, Siemens Schuckert, Germany, 1910
-
Description
This decorative hanging lamp dating from the 1910s to the 1920s, was designed by Peter Behrens for Siemens & Schuckert in Germany. The distinctive lampshade features a droplet-like form, crafted from two different types of glass. The lower section is made of white opaline glass, while the upper part is etched matte glass. This thoughtful design allows for more light to be cast upwards, while minimizing glare downwards. The hardware is constructed from metal with a copper finish. This light fixture remains in very good original condition with a lovely patina on the metal and the glass free from damage. It houses a single light source, and the two-tone shade creates a wonderfully soft and pleasant illumination. We are happy to offer complimentary rewiring of the lamp to suit the electrical standards of your country, upon request.
