Description
This rare Lamp was acquired directly from New Hope Mid-Century designer Phil Powell in the 1960s.
The lamp features an unusual walnut tripod base: each of the three legs, formed by smooth hand-carved pieces of walnut, tapers from a thick curve at the top to rest on a fine pointed foot. Each of the legs is of a different height; they stack one upon each other on a thin vertical support to form a base. This type of whimsical construction is typical of Powell’s work.
The base supports a rounded shade in a natural linen. -
