Description
Floor lamp in glazed stoneware at high temperature and its lampshade in old linen canvas. In his workshop in the Jura, Pierre Casenove creates unique, raw and fascinating pieces, which reveal the beauty of imperfection, simplicity and nature.
Category : Floor lamps, Sculptures
Artist : Pierre Casenove
Materials: Enamelled sandstone base, lampshade in old linen canvas
Manufacture: The firing of sandstone at high temperature is composed of two successive firings. First of all, the cooking of raw earth; when it is perfectly dry because the slightest humidity can burst the ceramic, in the electric oven at 980 ° c for 8 hours. This cooking makes it possible to chase away the air and tighten the grain, without totally solidifying the earth because it remains porous to allow the enamel to be applied. The enamel is baked in the electric oven, in an oxidizing atmosphere, at 1280 ° C for about 12 hours. Enamels adapted to this temperature are specific. It will be possible to open the oven below 200 ° C after a slow cooling of several hours, so as not to risk the breakage of the part
Size: Foot L 27 x D 18 x H 127 cm (lampshade Ø. 45 cm)
Inspiration: Pierre Casenove creates pieces of rare authenticity and remarkable simplicity, which fit perfectly into the Japanese concept of Wabi-sabi
Edition: Unique piece
Guarantee: Signature of the artist -
