Art Deco Hand Painted Chandelier with Antiqued Brass Fittings by Pierre D'Avesne
-
Description
This striking Art Deco chandelier was realized by the acclaimed Pierre D'Avesne in France, circa 1930. It features a convex domed glass shade with a blush rose bottom hand painted with sinuous lines, abstract forms, and graphic stylized floral patterns in a sublime yellow hue. The glass shade is secured to the channeled canopy via a circular chain link that attaches via neoclassical rivets- all in antiqued brass. With its austere form and beautiful craftsmanship, this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The chandelier accommodates three candelabra based bulbs offering up to 180 watts of light. It is signed "D Avesne".
France, circa 1930
