Pair of Sconces by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte

Description
Classic pair of sconces designed by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte in the late 1930’s and attributed by some to Gio Ponti. They feature an iridescent frosted glass of superior quality on a nickel frame. Both Pietro Chiesa and Gio Ponti designed for Fontana Arte from its inception to the 1950s having the role of Artistic Director and mentor of the company. Literature F De Boni, Fontana Arte, Skira publisher. Each holds one candelabra socket.
