Description
Poul Henningsen 'PH 80' Floor Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
Poul Henningsen designed the original three-shade system in 1926-27, using a scientific approach to create glare-free light, soft shadows, and illumination where most needed. The 'PH 80' was created in 1974, after Henningsen's death, as a celebration of what would have been his 80th birthday.
The 'PH 80' Floor Lamp is executed with white opal acrylic shades which provide attractively diffused ambient light, and a top reflector in red polycarbonate for the chrome plated version, black polycarbonate for the black variant, or white polycarbonate for the white variant. The 'PH 80' Floor Lamp with red reflector features a high luster chrome plated stem and textured black base. The black and white variants are made of powder coated steel with a smooth finish.
