Description
Mid-Century Modernist Chrome, Plexiglass & Aluminum Flush Mount by Sciolari
$5,975.00
This chandelier originates from Italy circa 1970, featuring an innovative design by Giorgio Sciolari, who was one of the most influential designers and architects of Italy's postwar period (1947–1971). His work provided a response to industrialization, which defined his style and clearly differentiated him from his contemporaries. The Mid-Century Modernist Flush Mount Chandelier is composed of rectangular polished chrome stepped pillars, capped at the bottom with thirteen lucite shades diffusing the light of the bulbs. The brilliant design is joined together with matte finish brushed aluminum elements that curve inwardly hugging the corners of the vertical rectangular elements to gracefully create pathways that move the eye throughout the piece. This elegantly modern fixture features a cross hatched textured bottom surface on each lucite shade with transparent sides and milled notches to diffuse heat while adding beautiful aesthetic detail. It is newly rewired to American Standards and is in excellent vintage condition.
