Mid Century Hourglass Chandelier in Hand-Blown Champagne Murano Glass by Seguso

This rare and stunning Mid Century Modern chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- by the legendary atelier of Seguso. The fixture offers a cylindrical body that tapers towards its base composed of an abundance of textured translucent hourglass form shades in a sumptuous champagne hue. It attaches to the ceiling via a chrome chain and domed canopy (in the same material) that offers a beautiful tonal counterpoint to the warm subtly golden glass employed throughout. With its dramatic, sculptural form and beautiful glass quality (by one of the most celebrated ateliers of the period), this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates 10 edison based bulbs offering up to 1000 watts of light.
