Description Table lamp with naturally inspired form in rare orange glaze by Svend Hammershøi (1873-1948)for Kähler, having a sculptural shape similar to a Turkish tulip with wide rounded base tapering in and then flaring out, with Hammershøi ‘s distinctive organic modeling and wonderful carved reeded texture all around, glazed earthenware, Denmark, 1910s-1920s; incised “HAK” mark. While the majority of Hammershøi’s designs were finished in a white-black glaze developed by his friend and co-worker Jens Thirslund to highlight the forms and surface textures that characterize his work, the bright orange glaze on this example is possibly unique.

Lamp is offered rewired with new twist cloth cord and brass socket. The 10 inch height posted below refers to the height of the ceramic base alone, not including the height of the socket. The overall height with shade would be approximately 20 inches, depending on personal preference.
