Description
This rare Newel Post Lamp by Tiffany Studios features three gold iridescent Tiffany Favrile Glass “Tulip” Shades and a cast bronze base with original rich brown patina.
The flattened round foot of the base is decorated with a ribbed motif. Instead of a single column, the central support splits into three organically intertwining stems which are cinched near the top by a thinner coil of bronze which terminates in a flattened spiral that functions as a decorative finial.
From each of the three “stems,” a single down facing Tiffany Favrile Glass “Tulip” Shade is suspended; each rounded “Tulip” shade is formed by Tiffany Studios’ iconic gold iridescent glass, these examples with silvery-blue finish, with a scalloped lower edge.
Each Tiffany Favrile Glass shade is inscribed with a signature, while the base is impressed with firm’s marks and model number. -
