Two Art Deco style frosted glass and silvered bronze wall sconces
-
Description
These graceful wall sconces were designed in France in the 20th Century in an elegant Art Deco style. In the arts, Art Deco is defined by its use of sleek, stylised forms.
The sconces are composed of rectangular frosted glass panels which are decorated with simple geometric patterns and tinted blue and green. The panels are mounted with silvered bronze sculptures of female dancers, depicted in the act of leaping forwards. The figures wear short, loose gowns and hold draperies in their raised hands. The women’s faces are turned in profile and they wear their hair up in braided buns. The panels are fitted with wall mounts and can be used either as decorative appliques or covers for lights. One figure's foot is signed 'GORI'. - More Information
