Description
An Art Nouveau pendant lamp attributed to Finnish architect Valter Jung (1879 - 1946) and made by Allan Helenius. The lamp features a pleated green textile shade set within a decorated brass frame, finished with long fringes. It is suspended from multiple decorative chains. Marked by Allan Helenius, Kangas.

In 1912 Allan Helenius, the station manager of the Kangas station, Ylivieska, established a metal workshop to manufacture lights near the station. The most important customers for Helenius were architects as Valter Jung and Ivar Thomé. In addition to lighting fixtures, the forge also manufactured iron lattice fences and gates, like for the Oulu Elementry School and various bank interiors. Due to the shortage of raw materials caused by World War I the forge closed down three years after its establishment.
