Description
This elegant 1940s Hollywood mirror was realized in the United States circa 1940. It features a rectangular form with rounded edges and bevel detailing. The perimeter of the piece is decorated with undulating segments (also in plain mirror), secured by nickeled rivets, that touch at each end. These amorphic forms- sometimes bowed, other times rolling- appear distinctly modern. A stylized shield cartouche appears at the central apex of the mirror with striated detailing, offering a dynamical formal counterpoint to the elongated rounded forms recurring throughout. With its monochromatic palate and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Art Deco to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
