Description
A distinctive mirror double-level wall mirror from the 1960s, made in Italy by Cristal Arte / Crystal Art. The mirror can be mounted in either landscape or portrait format and looks beautiful in both orientations. It consists of two mirror elements: a charming oval mirror mounted on a smoked grey-green backplate. The backplate features a beautifully elegant, scalloped, faceted and polished beveled edge. This lovely and highly decorative mirror is in good condition, with marginal signs of age, there is one visible scratch (see photo) and a few very faint, barely noticeable marks—nothing that would be distracting or affect the overall appearance. No damages. 20 × 28.5 or 28.5 x 20 inches.
Cristal Arte was an Italian design company founded in Turin in 1944, renowned for its high-quality glass and mirror creations. Especially active from the 1950s through the 1970s, the brand became known for its elegant and innovative designs, often combining colored glass, mirrored surfaces, and refined craftsmanship—in the spirit of Max Ingrand, Fontana Arte, Antonio Lupi Cristal Luxor and mid-century Italian design. -
