Gilt 19th Century Wall Mirror with Stucco Works, Rounded Corners, AT ca. 1840
-
Description
Charming gilt 19th century Biedermeier wall mirror from the period in Austria around 1840. Standing out with its lovely floral stucco work, silver plated half rods (slightly abraded) and rounded corners, this frame was restored by our experts while taking greatest care to keep the charme of a long past period as best as we can. We also kept the gorgeous patina and sealed it with a light shellac coating. This just looks amazing alongside the different kinds of gilt techniques (composition gold/ gold leaf) that were used for this beautiful masterpiece of a Biedermeier mirror. The mirror glass had to be changed during the restoration process because it was already completley blind. The backside of the mirror is closed with an old card board and the hand forged ring makes wall mounting easy. This gorgeous 19th century Biedermeier wall mirror could either be used in vertical or horizontal format.
