Italian 18th Century Religious Gilt Mirror
-
Description
This phenomenal mirror from 18th century Italy retains the same magnetism since its original purpose, likely for an ecclesiastical need, to symbolize the Divine and celestial. Gilded, faceted rays erupt at oblique and random angles from behind a nebulous form surrounding and revealing the original mirror plate with speckled foxing in the glass. Strung with picture wire for hanging. View the detailed images. Mirror opening approx. 9” x 5”
