Description
Elegant Italian Mid-Century Modern Rectangular Wall Mirror attributed to Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte, Italy, circa 1960. The mirror features an original design with the central mirror plate delicately suspended and floating within the frame. Notched, solid brass supports delicately pierce the thin, black enameled steel frame and anchor the mirror to the frame. The complimentary color contrast of black, brass and mirror is subtle, yet dynamic. The piece is beautifully designed as an art object, sculpture and as a functional object. Max Ingrand was the most legendary artist and designer of the 1950-1960's period who worked in glass, mirror in combination with metals. Dimensions of the frame: H 37.5" x W 16 x D 1.5". The central mirror plate alone is H 35.5" x W 14.38".
