Description
A fine pair of English, carved rococo cartouche shaped looking glasses
circa 1755 designed of c-scrolls and s-scrolls, crested with an acanthus
spray, one scroll carved with egg and dart having acanthus sprays and
rocaille, the frame with numerous sprays, the scrolls meeting at the base
bracketing rocks and rocaille trailing down with futher scrolls and
terminating in a final acanthus spray. Gilding is both dry stripped and
refreshed. The mirror plates are not original. Ht. 39 1/4" W. 15 1/2”
