Description
A sculptural and colourful vintage Finnish wall mirror produced by Mäkisen Kuvastin in 1975. The mirror features a distinctive wooden frame with greenish toned decorative panels in a rhythmic sequence running vertically along the sides. The repeating square geometric motif creates a subtle play that gives the piece a strong graphic identity typical of the 1970s in a fresh nordic charachter.
The composition reflects the design language of the early 1970s, when simple geometric forms, colour, and soft sculptural details were often combined with light natural finishes. The square relief elements introduce depth and texture to the otherwise minimal rectangular frame, giving the mirror a decorative quality while remaining architecturally balanced.
Mäkisen Kuvastin was a Finnish manufacturer known for producing mirrors and interior elements during the mid-20th century, often incorporating distinctive carved or molded wooden frames typical of the period.
Produced in Finland, in 1975. The mirror remains in good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear consistent with use. Stamped to the back. - More Information
