Vintage Italian Venetian Style Mirror in Wood Frame

Dimensions: 28 ½” H x 25 ⅜” W x 1 ½” D

Italian Venetian style wall mirror, early to mid 1900s, its multitude of glass elements composed in a thick wooden frame. Layers of stylized foliate appliqué using cut & etched mirror glass have been affixed to the rectilinear border panels in a way that creates an intriguing effect of depth and texture that wrap around a central plate. At the corners are applications modeled on the shape of a dogwood flower with little tulips in between. Shown in vertical orientation, the mirror could be hung in either direction as needed. A mostly clear reflection illuminates any room, touched in only a few places with dark foxing. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
