Description
11009d A SUPERB SET OF SIX REGENCY CARVED MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIRS English. Circa 1815. Measurements: Height: 36 1/2″ (92 cm) Width: 19″ (48.3 cm) Depth: 20″ (50.8 cm) Height to seat: 19″ (48.5 cm)
Of mahogany. Each profusely carved chair is surmounted by a rectangular caned panel back supported by downswept carved posts joined by a paneled and foliated carved crossbar. The caned seats support tie-on upholstered squab cushions. Below are paneled seat rails. The front legs reeded with swirling foliated capitals. The rear legs of heavy saber form. Castors reinstated.
