Description
Afra and Tobia Scarpa Set of Six 'Monk' Chairs for Molteni, Italy, circa 1974
A highly simplified, sophisticated and solid design by Italian award-winning designer couple Afra & Tobia Scarpa, the 'Monk' model is composed of two equal trestles in solid walnut attached to shaped metal tubing, creating a single element for the seat and back. The two structural parts are joined by two pairs of bolts for each trestle, with the decorative touch of large hubs in burnished steel facilitating the connection to the solid wood. With their original black Italian leather. Extremely comfortable and highly architectural from every angle.
Size: 29 1/2" back height x 20 1/2" wide x 17 1/2" deep x 17" seat height
