Description
Art Deco (or streamline moderne, as it’s often referred to), was originally named Art Décoratifs. The design style received its “Art Deco” name after the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, hosted in Paris in 1925. The Art Deco period peaked in popularity around the 1930s, then spread across Europe and the Unites States up to the start of World War II.
Characterized by its bold shapes, rich materials, and luxurious aesthetics, Art Deco transformed the way we perceive interior spaces. It was a testament to the fusion of form and function, and this ethos is beautifully exemplified in this exquisite and robust armchair. Incorporating furniture pieces from this period into interiors is a brilliant way of gracefully achieving the essence of luxury and glamour. Thanks to the chair’s curved shape, this model is exceptionally cosy and elegant. Curved chairs like this are statement pieces in any space, but they can also adapt to a variety of styles thanks to their universal appeal.
To live up to the seating style’s rich history rooted in style and comfort, this chair features thick seat cushions, sides, and back that are fully upholstered in premium bouclé fabric. With its classic shape paired with modern design, the generous size of this armchair is its most outstanding feature. The visual appearance however, is not the only thing that echoes Art Deco European design, but also the exquisite craftsmanship. The short, wooden legs add a modern feel, balancing out the voluptuous profile of the chair.
This chair truly captures the essence of an era marked by sophistication and a celebration of opulence.
