Description
Set of 4 Ilmari Tapiovaara 'Domus' Chairs in Natural Oak and Leather for Artek. Designed in 1946 and produced by Artek of Finland. Executed in natural lacquered oak wood and black prestige leather on seat and back. Stackable up to four chairs.
A masterpiece of modern furniture design, the 'Domus' chair was created as part of a series of furniture for the Domus Academica student housing complex in Helsinki. Comfortable enough to allow sitting for long periods of time, the Domus Chair achieved great success internationally, becoming known as “The Finn Chair.” The characteristic short arms mean that the Domus Chair can be pulled close to a table, perfect for studying at a desk and dining, while offering the necessary support and comfort.
Price is for the set of 4. This listing is for our showroom model 'Domus' chairs in natural oak and black leather. Please note as the chairs are currently in use, there may be additional signs of wear other than pictured in the listing photos. Additional photography available upon request. Some age appropriate patina, dings, scuffs and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy.
Also available in unlimited quantities in separate listings. Variations include: wood only, natural lacquered birch, black stained birch, honey stained birch, white lacquered birch and natural lacquered oak as well as seat only or seat and back upholstered in black leather. Seat and back form pressed birch plywood, birch or oak face veneer frame and armrests solid birch or solid oak, felt glides. -
