Scandinavian Lounge Chair "Pernilla 1" by Bruno Mathsson, 1940s
-
Description
Gorgeous lounge chair and ottoman "Pernilla 1", designed by Bruno Mathsson for Karl Andersson & Söner, Sweden. This rare version with red paper cord webbing and reading stand was most likely produced during the World War II, when a lack of material forced designers and manufacturers to use paper cord.
CONDITION
Good original condition with signs of age and use. The webbing shows some light damage on the ottoman and is a little discoloured on the backside of the backrest. The frame is stable and has no cracks, though some damage on the surface of the front corners can be seen. The pillow is new, made after the original with vintage "percyblad" fabric, which was used by Bruna Mathsson and is no longer in production. -
