Description
Aluminum chair designed by Charles & Ray Eames and manufactured by Vitra in 1958. Vitra Eames chair featuring soft brown leather upholstery with an aluminum frame. The designer couple developed this chair in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). For its construction, they departed from the principle of the seat shell, instead stretching a panel of fabric or leather between two aluminium side members to create a taut but elastic seat. The Aluminum Chair is very comfortable due to the ergonomically shaped backrest, making it a perfect fit for an office space. The chair really adapts to the body of the sitter. Additionally, the chair can swivel, making it not only a stylish but furthermore a very practical design. The matching Aluminum Chairs without armrests are available in another listing. It’s an iconic piece, in great original condition, priced per piece.
