Description
A sophisticated pair of Eames Aluminum Group swivel chairs, the celebrated mid-century modern seating design by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, manufactured in Italy by Vitra.
One of the most recognizable designs of the 20th-century modernist movement, the Aluminum Group is distinguished by its remarkably thin profile and innovative suspended upholstery construction. Rather than relying on conventional padded upholstery, the seat and back form a continuous, gently contoured surface stretched between sculptural aluminum side members, creating the chair's characteristic combination of visual lightness, flexibility, and ergonomic comfort.
This pair features ivory/off-white woven mesh upholstery contrasted against exposed polished aluminum frames and architectural four-star aluminum swivel bases. Black column details provide a subtle graphic contrast. Each chair rotates a full 360 degrees.
The restrained palette and exceptionally clean silhouette make these chairs particularly versatile for interior designers, architects, and collectors. Their armless configuration works beautifully as executive office chairs, desk chairs, conference chairs, occasional chairs, library seating, or modern accent chairs. They would integrate particularly well into Mid-Century Modern, Bauhaus, International Style, Minimalist, Contemporary, Modernist, or Postmodern interiors.
The underside retains a "Made in Italy" label, supporting the Italian manufacture of this pair.
An excellent opportunity for a design professional seeking authentic Eames office seating with a quieter, more residential appearance than traditional black leather examples. The ivory mesh and polished aluminum give the chairs an understated architectural quality suitable for both sophisticated residential projects and commercial interiors.
