Description
New York, probably Adirondack region, 1870-1890.
Bentwood saplings, probably ash or maple.
Excellent condition, retaining original red paint finish.
Rustic bentwood furniture was more commonly found in the Adirondack region, although it was made all over the Northeast. This wonderfully made child's chair is adorned with a rare heart-shaped motif on the back and a star design on the seat. -
