Description
A Loveseat by Daniel Wenger created in 1972 with a replaced sling. This is an early example of this iconic Californian chair.
The background on this chair as related to me by Daniel Wenger:
"The love seat that you have that is in the video has a story to it. The frame is from the 70s, the leather I replaced in a couple of years ago. When I returned to chair making in 2009 I learned that an old friend of mine from the 70s who had purchased a number of my early pieces and then stacked in her basement. I went with my wife to view them and my wife offered to buy them all, even though the leather was like wood and the frames were bent and rusted. My friend and distributor in Berlin, Lars Triesch, asked me to straighten out the frame and put new hide on it, which I did. The chair then passed to you."
The last image of this listing is from a group of unpublished promotional photographs taken in the 1970s
The frame is in original condition with the newer sling as described above. -
