Denmark has a long history of furniture-making. Through the 19th century, the country also had a very strong tradition of cabinetmaking, or producing traditional furniture by hand. In the early 20th century, these cabinetmaking traditions began to merge with modern forces to create simple and refined pieces like this stool.

This stool has a classic look that relies on the beauty of the elm structure. Smooth and unadorned, the design has functionality in its focus with four sturdy, straight legs with profiled edges. The joinery techniques further reinforce stability. At the same time, these functional features are the base for the main visual element of the design, the seat. The upholstered seat is a visual treat, with an exquisite, soft fabric made from sheepskin. It is attention grabbing and provides both visual and physical comfort. Overall, this stool is minimal and stylish; it seeks to complement its surroundings.
